Police Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Police Officer to join our team at the City of Renton. As a Police Officer, you will be responsible for maintaining law and order, preventing and investigating crimes, and providing excellent customer service to the community.

• Patrol assigned areas to prevent and detect crime, and to enforce laws and regulations.
• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls, and provide assistance to the public as needed.
• Investigate crimes, gather evidence, and interview witnesses and suspects.
• Enforce traffic laws and regulations, and issue citations as necessary.
• Participate in community policing initiatives, and build relationships with community members and organizations.
• Work collaboratively with other law enforcement agencies, and participate in joint investigations and operations.
• Stay up-to-date with changing laws, regulations, and procedures, and maintain a high level of physical fitness.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 21 years old, and a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident.
• Valid Washington State driver's license required.
• Ability to pass a background investigation, and a polygraph examination.
• Ability to work a variety of shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

• Previous law enforcement experience preferred.
• Knowledge of law enforcement procedures, and laws and regulations.
• Ability to communicate effectively, and work well with diverse populations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and prioritize tasks effectively.
