Job Summary

The University of New Mexico is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Research Development Coordinator. This role will play a critical part in supporting the development of research proposals and grants for the College of Arts and Sciences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist investigators in all elements of pre-award grant and contract development, including:
  • Review and interpretation of funding guidelines and development of a checklist for the investigators' use
  • Communication of and adherence to both internal and external deadlines
  • Proposal development and preparation, including completion of all internal forms, sponsor forms, budget development, document collection, and assistance with formatting when required and appropriate
  • Assistance with the development and routing of Streamlyne records
  • Provide guidance to faculty on the UNM proposal submission process
  • Serve as the liaison between the PI and the Central Office of Sponsored Projects
  • Track all planned and pending grant and contract applications using the FRDO Reporting tool
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis
  • Associate's Degree + 2 years of related experience or a Bachelor's Degree
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with funding proposals, including budgets and budget narratives
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects
  • Experience preparing federal grant submissions
  • Ability to communicate professionally with faculty in an array of disciplines that use diverse methodological approaches
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
