The University of New Mexico is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Community-Based Research Specialist. This role will play a critical part in the success of our research team, working closely with our scientists and researchers to coordinate and execute community-based research studies.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and coordinate the on-site establishment and execution of research and associated administrative protocol within the defined parameters of a funded community-based research study.
- Establish and maintain community relationships through face-to-face, telephone, and email contact.
- Engage and recruit community participation, scheduling, coordinating, and performing study-related procedures, including administration of structured questionnaires and collection of biological specimens.
- Collect and prepare data, conducting a variety of standardized tests and analyses in accordance with detailed protocol and procedural specifications.
- Participate in the interpretation of field research data and in the publication and/or presentation of results.
- Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Prior research experience with multi-faceted clinical studies, ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and deadline-oriented environment, and proficiency in oral and written Spanish are preferred.
This position requires the ability to work flexible hours, including early morning and late evening hours, and rotated weekend coverage of research activities within a 40-hour work week.
