Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of 4-5 staff members, including interviewing, hiring, training, and reviewing BOH staff
  • Work with the FOH team to establish and meet pars
  • Develop and create dessert menus and recipes with the Executive Pastry Chef and team
  • Manage the organization of the kitchen, including storage, walk-ins, and dairy fridge
  • Conduct daily quality checks of products
  • Attend outside events and programs with possible travel
  • Manage food cost and labor costs

Qualification Requirements:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in a restaurant or bakery with a focus on bread and viennoiserie, with at least 2 years of managerial responsibilities
  • A genuine passion and knowledge for food and pastries
  • Prior experience with laminated dough, cakes, ice cream, and chocolate
  • Experience with service and expediting
  • Knowledge of how to work with a dough sheeter
  • Dependable and hard-working, with a strong work ethic
  • Sociable and friendly to staff and guests
  • Meticulously clean and aware of all food safety standards (NYC Food Handler's License a plus)
