Job Overview

The Financial Accountant position is essential to the operational success of our leading business model. This role involves overseeing the accounting team in alignment with standard accounting practices and ensuring adherence to the policies and procedures of Summit Fleet. The Financial Accountant will report directly to the Assistant Controller.

Key Responsibilities
  • Comprehensive training across all facets of a well-established accounting department within a rapidly growing environment to gain a holistic understanding of our organization.
  • Assisting in the month-end closing process and preparing financial reports.
  • Identifying and recommending process enhancements to improve efficiency and strengthen our business model.
  • Supporting the processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Reconciling bank statements to ensure accuracy.
  • Actively contributing to our culture of success, emphasizing Accountability, Communication, Customer Focus, Dependability, Innovation, and Teamwork.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong communication skills, maintaining professionalism when interacting with employees, vendors, customers, and company representatives.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while adhering to deadlines.
  • A collaborative team player who works effectively with all internal departments.
  • Self-motivated individual, eager to learn new processes and refine existing ones.
  • Innovative thinker focused on automating routine tasks to transition to more complex challenges within the organization.
  • Capable of performing the aforementioned duties with minimal supervision.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or nearing completion is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role is required.
  • 1-3 years of experience with accounting ERP systems is advantageous, with Microsoft Dynamics Navision being a plus.
  • Experience in Accounts Receivable is beneficial.
