Maintenance Planner Job Summary

The Maintenance Planner plays a crucial role in expediting the flow of work and materials within the maintenance department. This position is responsible for reviewing and distributing work orders, collaborating with department supervisors, and compiling reports on progress, inventory levels, costs, and maintenance problems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with reviewing documents, materials, and work processes to ensure completeness, accuracy, and conformance to standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with department supervisors and personnel to assess progress and discuss needed changes to processes.
  • Communicate with vendors and customers to coordinate maintenance activities and resolve complaints or eliminate delays.
  • Record maintenance data, including work orders, spare parts used, and missed deadlines.
  • Creates and maintains tracking spreadsheets to keep track of inventory and repeat trends on maintenance issues.
  • Requisitions and maintains inventories of material and supplies necessary to meet maintenance demands.
  • Schedules and checks on progress for work orders in CMMS.
  • Compiles reports from CMMS to track trends and work efficiency.
  • Maintains the Trailer/Truck/Fork Lift/other equipment Preventative Maintenance Programs, including contacting vendors and corporate personnel to resolve issues.
  • Drop off/Pick up supplies/repairs to local vendors as needed (MVR permission required).
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have demonstrated experience working in Microsoft Excel to manage data, create spreadsheets, generate reports, charts, etc.
  • Minimum of 2+ years in a production or maintenance environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Inventory experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills and problem-solving.
  • Ability to multitask, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates time management skills.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Ability to fax, copy, and scan documents.
Physical Demands
  • Frequently lifts up to 15 lbs, occasionally up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequent walking, standing, stooping, bending, climbing, pulling, pushing, and crawling.
  • Frequently required to sit for extended periods.
Work Environment

Mostly office, however, could be outside in all types of weather. Hot and humid in plant. In and around and working with moving parts and equipment.
