Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist II to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare patients for exams, ensuring their comfort and modesty at all times.
  • Obtain and examine requisitions for imaging examinations, verifying patient identification and obtaining informed consent when necessary.
  • Participate in patient transfers, positioning, and instructing patients for procedures to obtain desired screening/diagnostic results.
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures, making adjustments and changes to techniques as required.
  • Provide radiation protection to unaffected areas of the body, adhering to prescribed safety standards.
  • Calculate and select proper technical factors, selecting equipment appropriate to the patient and examination.
  • Evaluate images to ensure proper identification and diagnostic quality, adjusting techniques and factors as necessary.
  • Operate imaging equipment according to specific diagnostic procedures and established routines, utilizing computed radiography and direct imaging equipment.
  • Review electronic images to ensure quality and completeness, transferring or duplicating films/images as directed.
  • Follow PACs workflow procedures, working with electronic work lists and ensuring all electronic images meet quality standards.
Requirements
  • RTR licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, including a temporary (1 year) MA license.
  • ARRT certification in Radiology within 12 months from date of hire.
  • BLS certification.
  • Some specialty modalities may require additional formal training and certification.
Physical Demands and Environmental Conditions

This position requires work indoors in a normal patient care environment, with medium physical demands.
