Radiologic Technologist II

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist II to join our team at UMass Memorial Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of technical radiologic procedures using standard, portable, and/or specialized x-ray equipment to apply prescribed ionizing radiation in order to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of patients' illnesses and injuries.
- Assist patients in positioning for correct anatomical exposure, maintain order and cleanliness of work area, and perform routine clerical tasks.
- Prepare patients for exams as required, ensuring patient comfort and modesty at all times.
- Obtain and examine requisitions for imaging examinations, checking patient identification bands and two methods of identification for outpatients before any procedure is performed.
- Participate in transfer of patients if needed, position and instruct patients regarding the procedure to obtain and effect the desired screening/diagnostic results as specified by the physician.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and follow departmental policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of radiation safety standards and ability to apply them in a clinical setting.
