Patient Access Representative

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team at UnitedHealth Group. As a Patient Access Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring that patients receive exceptional care and service from the moment they arrive at our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Collect and verify patient demographic and insurance information to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement
- Secure required signatures from patients and/or representatives to protect hospital interests
- Provide excellent patient experience through effective communication and professionalism
- Utilize computer systems to enter and verify patient data in real-time
- Gather necessary clinical information and process referrals, pre-certification, pre-determinations, and pre-authorizations
- Verify insurance coverage and create price estimates as needed
- Collect patient co-pays and conduct conversations on out-of-pocket financial obligations
- Identify outstanding balances and attempt to collect amounts due
- Respond to patient and caregiver inquiries in a compassionate and respectful manner
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- 1+ years of customer service experience
- Ability to work full-time (40 hours/week), 3pm to 11pm with rotating weekends
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic keyboarding skills
