Job Summary

We're seeking a highly motivated and experienced General Foreman to lead our line clearance operations. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring successful production results, creating a positive team environment, and overseeing work oversight and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the team, including Assistant General Foremen and Foremen, to achieve successful production results and create a positive team environment
  • Work oversight and safety, including planning and managing production, bid new work, and understanding revenue targets
  • Collaborate with utility foresters and inspectors to clarify work specifications, coordinate work audits and inspections, and address customer issues
  • Visit work sites frequently to review the Pre-Job Hazard Survey, inspect work in progress, and ensure it conforms to standards
  • Take a lead role in safety to ensure the well-being of employees, customers, and the public
  • Manage personnel, including ensuring employees receive training, appraising performance, and identifying and developing high-potential employees for leadership succession
  • Maintain records and documentation related to man-hours, equipment and tool use, material inventory and storage, accident and incident reports, property-related permissions and permits, customer records, labor disputes, and other job-specific records
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Leadership experience in the utility line clearance industry at the Foreperson or Assistant General Foreperson position
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits, and correct arboriculture techniques for working in close proximity to energized conductors
  • Understanding of drawings and symbols representing types of lines, voltage, line equipment, and other relevant information
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting a minimum of 50 pounds to shoulder height or more
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR cards
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and job duty skills tests
  • Preferred but not required: CDL and/or medical certificate required for the vehicle being operated
  • Preferred but not required: Bilingual (English/Spanish)
