Job Summary:

As a General Foreperson at Lewis Tree Service, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in the utility line clearance industry. This role requires strong leadership skills, as well as a deep understanding of arboriculture and safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of Forepersons and Assistant General Forepersons to ensure successful production results and a positive team environment.
  • Work closely with utility foresters and inspectors to clarify work specifications, coordinate work audits and inspections, and address customer issues.
  • Visit work sites frequently to review Pre-Job Hazard Surveys, inspect work in progress, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain records and documentation related to man-hours, equipment and tool use, material inventory and storage, accident and incident reports, and customer records.

Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Leadership experience in the utility line clearance industry at the Foreperson or Assistant General Foreperson level.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits, and correct arboriculture techniques.
  • Understanding of drawings and symbols representing types of lines, voltage, and line equipment.
  • Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting a minimum of 50 pounds to shoulder height or more.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR cards.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug test and job duty skills tests.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • CDL and/or medical certificate required for the vehicle being operated.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).
