Job Summary:We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Foreman to lead our team of arborists and utility line clearance specialists. As a General Foreman, you'll be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our tree trimming and removal services, ensuring that all work is completed safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of arborists and utility line clearance specialists to ensure successful production results and a positive team environment.
- Work closely with utility foresters and inspectors to clarify work specifications, coordinate work audits and inspections, and address customer issues.
- Plan and manage production, bid new work, and understand revenue targets.
- Review the Pre-Job Hazard Survey at each job site, inspect work in progress, and ensure it conforms to standards.
- Enforce on-the-job safety practices and take a lead role in safety to ensure the well-being of employees, customers, and the public.
- Manage personnel, including training, performance appraisals, and identifying high-potential employees for leadership succession.
- Collaborate with the Corporate office for timekeeping, billing, employee relations, contract support, and recruiting.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Leadership experience in the utility line clearance industry at the Foreperson or Assistant General Foreperson position.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits, and correct arboriculture techniques.
- Understanding of drawings and symbols representing types of lines, voltage, and line equipment.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. to shoulder height or more.
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Ability to obtain First Aid and CPR cards.
- Pass a pre-employment drug test and job duty skills tests.
- CDL and/or medical certificate required for the vehicle being operated.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish).
