The role of Oncology Territory Development Manager at Akumin offers a unique opportunity to drive growth and success in the field of healthcare sales. As an Account Executive, you will be responsible for increasing patient start volumes at a customer level, ensuring the market delivers same store growth and meeting budgeted volume commitments.

This includes analyzing physician referral patterns to develop customer-level marketing plans, identifying opportunities to increase volume with existing referrers, and developing new referral channels.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Working closely with the VP of Physician Sales, Operations leadership, Clinical Team, Marketing, and local partners to establish sales and marketing plans that deliver on budgeted patient starts and drive same store growth.
  • Analyzing market account referral patterns, monitoring variances/trends associated with existing referral bases, and strategically planning time in the field and action plans to drive patient start referrals.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with top strategic referrers to increase patient start volumes, owning Physician Referral Mapping work to understand the markets' patient care continuum and providers involved, identifying key customer drivers, and ensuring customer needs are met.
  • Building/executing routing plans to include 'other' and 'new' referrers based on market trends and identified disease sites, using conceptual selling skills to engage these referrers, and probing potential referrers to uncover competitive takeaways based on unmet needs.
  • Understanding Disease Site trends and implementing targeted outreach programs such as territory-level educational campaigns, healthcare fairs, tumor boards, and other events to promote awareness/education.
  • Participating in business meetings providing status updates on territory performance to plan and future strategies/tactics to implement, partnering with marketing to identify areas for marketing to engage strategically to pull through key initiatives that support growth.

Position Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of successful healthcare sales (or service-based sales role) or clinical experience in a healthcare environment with the aptitude to sell.
  • Strong business acumen and demonstrates an understanding of the sales and physician space.
  • Ability to successfully execute a territory development plan.
  • A proven record of accomplishment of success in a competitive selling environment.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Local travel may be required 75-90% of the time.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience.
  • Prior Imaging and/or Oncology experience.

Physical Requirements:

The employee may be exposed to environmental hazards such as exposure to noise, and travel. The standard office environment requires sitting, standing, walking, repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs, seeing, speaking, and hearing to communicate with patients.
