Job Title: Behavioral Health LPN

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Behavioral Health LPN to join our team at St. John's Hospital. As a member of our Behavioral Health Unit, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals with mental health needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct initial assessments to determine mental health needs and establish a nursing diagnosis.
  • Develop individualized care plans with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for side effects and responses to these medications.
  • Provide restorative care to patients, including individual and group therapy sessions.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment plans, including coping strategies, self-care techniques, and medication compliance.
  • Respond to crises, using de-escalation techniques to manage behavioral emergencies and ensure patient safety.
Requirements:
  • Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
  • Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
  • IV certification within 90 days of hire
  • Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current.
