Job Summary:The LPN will work in our 30-bed Behavioral Health Unit, providing high-quality care to patients with mental health needs. The ideal candidate will have excellent assessment and treatment planning skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:- Conduct initial assessments to determine mental health needs and establish a nursing diagnosis.
- Develop individualized care plans with a multidisciplinary team.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for side effects and responses.
- Provide restorative care to patients, including individual and group therapy sessions.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment plans.
- Respond to crises, using de-escalation techniques to manage behavioral emergencies.
- Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- IV certification within 90 days of hire.
- Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current.
