As a Behavioral Health LPN, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to assess patient needs, develop individualized treatment plans, and administer medications as prescribed. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of duties, including:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough assessments to determine patients' mental health status and establish a nursing diagnosis.
- Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for side effects and responses to treatment.
- Provide therapeutic care through individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based techniques such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or dialectical behavior therapy (DBT).
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, treatment plans, coping strategies, self-care techniques, and medication compliance.
- Respond effectively to crises, employing de-escalation techniques to manage behavioral emergencies and ensure patient safety.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:
- Current and valid state LPN License.
- IV Certification.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current status.
- Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire.
Previous Behavioral Health/Geriatric Psych experience is a valuable asset but not required.
