We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Behavioral Health team at St. John's Hospital. As a Behavioral Health LPN, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and support to individuals with mental health needs.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct initial assessments to determine mental health needs and establish a nursing diagnosis.
- Develop individualized care plans with a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications as prescribed and monitor patients for side effects and responses to these medications.
- Provide restorative care to patients, including individual and group therapy sessions.
- Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions and treatment plans.
- Respond to crises, using de-escalation techniques to manage behavioral emergencies and ensure patient safety.
- Current and valid state license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse or Licensed Psychiatric Technician.
- Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- IV certification within 90 days of hire.
- Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current.
