The Warehouse Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting logistics operations, particularly for the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB). This position encompasses a range of warehousing responsibilities, including the verification of materials against receiving documents, the efficient storage and organization of goods, and the preparation of items for shipment. The specialist will also engage in wholesale supply chain activities, such as receiving and processing incoming assets, inventory management, and the planning of cargo movements.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Utilize the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) for the receipt, issuance, and storage of various repair parts.
  • Assist in all sections of the Supply Support Activity (SSA), excluding Shipping and Receiving.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in issue documents and materials.
  • Report any shortages or damages to the appropriate leadership.
  • Inspect returned items, verify their condition, and manage their disposition.
  • Document the receipt of items accurately.
  • Support the unloading of incoming shipments at the designated loading area.
  • Conduct inspections for damages and ensure accuracy against shipping documents.
  • Organize and stock warehouse items according to designated locations.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment (forklifts) safely and efficiently.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts.
  • Be prepared to lift items weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the SSA Supervisor.

EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Standard office equipment and computer applications.
  • All necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Basic maintenance tools and equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Typically, work is conducted in a controlled office environment, with regular use of electronic equipment.
  • Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions may occur.
  • Some outdoor activities may be required, necessitating adaptation to varying temperatures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers and printers.
  • Must be capable of lifting at least 50 lbs.
  • Compliance with PPE requirements is mandatory.
Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • GCSS-A certification at the SSA level is mandatory.
  • Forklift certification is preferred.
  • A valid State Driver's License without restrictions is necessary.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Maintaining driving privileges on relevant installations is essential.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of five years in supply operations at the warehouse level is required.
  • Moderate knowledge of supply regulations and procedures is essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Supply Support Activity operations is necessary.
  • Experience overseeing logistics and transportation activities is preferred.
  • Familiarity with logistics information systems is advantageous.

SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint is required.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
