The Warehouse Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB) by executing various warehousing responsibilities. These include verifying incoming materials against documentation, receiving and organizing stock, and preparing items for shipment. The specialist also supports comprehensive supply chain functions, such as processing incoming assets, managing inventory, and facilitating the transportation and demilitarization of equipment.

Key Responsibilities

This job description may be adjusted as necessary to fulfill program or organizational needs.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Utilize the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) for the receipt, issuance, and storage of repair parts across various classes.
  • Assist in all sections of the Supply Support Activity (SSA), excluding Shipping and Receiving.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in issue documents (MRO) and inventory.
  • Accurately select stock as per documentation and report any inconsistencies or damages.
  • Manage the return of items, ensuring proper inspection and verification of material details.
  • Document the receipt of items and assist in unloading shipments.
  • Conduct inspections of incoming materials against shipping documents.
  • Unpack and examine shipments for internal damage or missing components.
  • Organize and restock warehouse inventory to maintain an orderly environment.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment (forklifts) with a capacity of 2,000-6,000 lbs.
  • Perform Preventative Maintenance Checks & Services (PMCS) on forklifts.
  • Lift and handle materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned by the Supply Support Activity Supervisor.

Equipment Utilized:

  • Standard office equipment and computer applications.
  • All necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Basic maintenance tools and equipment.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily operates in a temperature-controlled office setting, with frequent use of electronic office equipment.
  • Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions may occur.
  • Some outdoor tasks may require adaptation to varying temperatures.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers and printers.
  • Must be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Compliance with PPE regulations is mandatory.
Qualifications

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • GCSS-A certification at the SSA level is necessary.
  • Forklift certification is preferred.
  • A valid State Driver's License without restrictions is mandatory.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Maintaining driving privileges is essential.

EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of five years in supply operations at the warehouse level is required.
  • Familiarity with governing regulations and procedures in Supply Operations is essential.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Supply Support Activity at both tactical and installation levels is necessary.
  • Ability to manage logistics and transportation activities effectively.
  • Strong knowledge of logistic information systems and policies is essential.

SKILLS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint is required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for effective interaction with team members and leadership.
