The Warehouse Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the operations of the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade (CAB). This position encompasses a range of warehousing responsibilities, including verifying incoming materials against documentation, receiving and organizing inventory, and preparing items for shipment. The specialist will also assist in wholesale supply chain functions, such as processing incoming assets, managing storage and inventory, and facilitating the movement of cargo.

Key Responsibilities

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Utilize the Global Combat Support System-Army (GCSS-Army) for the receipt, issuance, and storage of various repair parts.
  • Engage in multiple sections of the Supply Support Activity (SSA), excluding Shipping and Receiving.
  • Review issue documents (MRO) to ensure accuracy in parts handling.
  • Identify stock based on documentation, reporting any discrepancies or damages to management.
  • Process turn-ins of items, assessing their condition and verifying specifications.
  • Document the receipt of items accurately.
  • Assist in unloading incoming shipments and inspecting for damages.
  • Organize warehouse inventory according to designated locations, ensuring efficient restocking and relocation.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment (forklifts) with a capacity of 2,000-6,000 lbs.
  • Conduct Preventative Maintenance Checks & Services (PMCS) on forklifts.
  • Be capable of lifting a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Standard office equipment and computer applications.
  • All necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Basic maintenance tools and equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Typically operates in a climate-controlled office setting, with regular exposure to electronic equipment.
  • May occasionally work in extreme weather conditions.
  • Some outdoor activities may be required, exposing the employee to varying temperatures.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to operate standard office equipment, including computers and printers.
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Compliance with PPE requirements is mandatory.
Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • GCSS-A certification at the SSA level is necessary.
  • Forklift certification is preferred.
  • A valid State Driver's License with no restrictions is required.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Must maintain driving privileges as required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in supply operations at the warehouse level.
  • Moderate knowledge of relevant regulations and procedures in Supply Management.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Supply Support Activity operations at both tactical and installation levels.
  • Experience overseeing logistics, maintenance, and transportation activities.
  • Familiarity with Logistic Information Systems such as AESIP, LIW, and FLIS/FEDLOG.

SKILLS:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
