Job Summary

The Assistant Team Leader will play a key role in maintaining a clean and well-organized store environment while assisting the Store Team Leader in creating a customer-first culture. This includes supervising store employees, managing merchandise, completing paperwork, and preparing deposits. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and have a strong attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to exceed customer expectations, greet and assist customers, and operate cash registers and scanners to itemize purchases.
  • Store Culture: Assist the Store Team Leader in creating and supporting a customer-first store culture.
  • Product Knowledge: Model product knowledge and selling techniques to enhance the customer experience and facilitate merchandising the store in a manner that is appealing to customers.
  • Store Maintenance: Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized store environment, including daily and weekly cleaning checklists.
  • Employee Management: Assist the Store Team Leader with scheduling employees, providing training, conducting safety meetings, and ensuring employee compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Merchandise Management: Follow company work processes to manage merchandise, including receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking, and rotating merchandise on shelves and building merchandise displays.
  • Financial Integrity: Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels, controlling damages, markdowns, scanning, paperwork, and facility controls, and ensuring financial integrity of the store through strict cashier accountability and cash control procedures.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
  • Experience: One year of experience in a specialty retail environment preferred, with six months of supervisory or team lead experience preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents, perform mathematical calculations, and operate cash registers and other tools to generate reports. Strong product inventory knowledge and creative merchandising abilities.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Frequent Walking and Standing: Frequent walking and standing, with occasional climbing using a ladder.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent bending, stooping, and kneeling to run check-out stations, stock merchandise, and unload trucks. Frequent handling of merchandise and equipment, with occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds and occasional exposure to outside weather conditions.
