Your Role as a Senior Fire Protection Designer

As a key member of our team, you will engage in the development, assessment, and refinement of fire sprinkler design schematics using advanced computer-aided design (AutoCAD) tools. Your responsibilities will encompass in-office design work and collaboration with project managers and field technicians to guarantee successful project outcomes. Key duties include:
  • Utilizing your expertise in fire regulations to support sales and technical teams.
  • Preparing material lists and submission packages for design initiatives.
  • Executing hydraulic calculations in accordance with project specifications.
  • Conducting on-site evaluations at current and prospective project locations.
  • Ensuring compliance with fire safety codes by working alongside general contractors, architects, engineers, and plan reviewers.
  • Maintaining communication with all project stakeholders throughout the construction phase to facilitate efficient installations.
  • Engaging in professional development opportunities and pursuing certifications such as NICET and WI Designer Stamp.
  • Mentoring junior Drafter Designers as you enhance your own skill set.
Qualifications Required
We are looking for candidates with experience in fire protection design or related drafting experience who are eager to advance their design capabilities. Additionally, we seek individuals who possess:
  • An associate degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or a related mechanical design field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years of design experience in the Fire Protection or Construction industry.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and drafting.
  • Experience with 3-D modeling software such as Navisworks, Revit, or similar tools is desirable.
  • Familiarity with AutoSprink by M.E.P. CAD and BIM modeling is a plus, though we provide training for those willing to learn.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic team environment.
  • A commitment to continuous learning to stay updated on trends and technologies in the fire protection industry.
