KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Guide a team of developers and engineers in the successful delivery of software, particularly in constructing a front-end Agent Quoting solution utilizing Duck Creek Policy.
  • Lead the formulation of strategic roadmaps that align with both business and technological requirements.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact, facilitating communication between technical personnel and all project stakeholders.
  • Assist in selecting the appropriate technology stack for projects.
  • Support the organization in Proof of Technology, Proof of Concepts, and solution modeling.
  • Oversee decisions related to technical debt.
  • Ensure compliance with SECURA's established integration and development standards, security protocols, and governance practices.
  • Provide insights and feedback post-project regarding technical aspects, including successes, challenges, and suggestions for enhancements.
  • Promote and share knowledge of best practices in integration and development.
  • Conduct code reviews in accordance with SECURA standards.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and the technical team to plan product releases, provide estimates, and address issues.
  • Mentor team members in development processes, requirements gathering, and methodologies.
  • Identify potential risks associated with products and projects, communicate them to the team, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Drive initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
  • Assist in resolving technical obstacles by collaborating with Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architects, and other Technical Leaders and team members, which may involve developing new standards and guidelines or modifying existing ones.
  • Manage relationships with software vendors, addressing issues that require prompt attention.
QUALIFICATIONS:

ESSENTIAL:
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in an IT-related field or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Approachable demeanor, willingness to share knowledge, and ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong skills in problem analysis and resolution, along with organizational, planning, and prioritization capabilities.
  • Demonstrated success in leveraging technology to achieve business goals.
  • Ability to clearly communicate design and implementation decisions.
  • Comfortable with collaboration, open communication, and engaging across functional boundaries.
  • Results-driven, self-motivated, and resourceful team player.
  • Expertise in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), application development methodologies, tools, and techniques.
  • Over 5 years of experience in Full-stack application development within a corporate setting.
  • Familiarity with XML and JSON data formats.
  • Experience with Duck Creek APIs.
  • Experience working within the Duck Creek platform.
  • Experience in developing front-end UI/UX solutions leveraging Duck Creek Policy.
  • Proficient in the following technologies:
    • .NET 8, C#
    • HTML5, CSS3
    • Git
    • Responsive/Adaptive design
    • Consuming RESTful web APIs
PREFERRED:
  • Experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance sector.
  • Familiarity with MS Azure API Manager is advantageous.
