Position Overview

As the Facilities Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in the leadership team, overseeing the comprehensive maintenance and inventory management of the site. This position is essential for ensuring the effective execution of maintenance operations while driving ongoing enhancements across all functional areas. In addition, you will manage the storeroom, focusing on spare parts inventory and cost optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety and Compliance:

  • Ensure adherence to mandatory safety training for all personnel.
  • Maintain compliance with safety procedures.
  • Promote high standards of safety and cleanliness.
  • Implement improvements in safety protocols.
  • Encourage a culture of safety ownership across all levels.
  • Facilitate weekly safety meetings for the maintenance team.
  • Respond effectively to any plant emergencies.
  • Support the site’s environmental, safety, and health objectives.
  • Perform duties in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
  • Ensure safe evacuation procedures are in place for emergencies.

Quality Assurance:

  • Guarantee compliance with ISO, cGMP, and HACCP standards.
  • Ensure all maintenance tasks align with cGMP requirements.
  • Verify that maintenance documentation meets quality and safety standards.
  • Engage in audits conducted by customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

Relationship Management:

  • Establish clear expectations for team performance and goals.
  • Foster positive relationships between management and union representatives.
  • Address conflicts and provide coaching as necessary.
  • Inspire and support the development of maintenance technicians.
  • Deliver essential technical training to staff.
  • Manage workforce diversity effectively.
  • Assist in the evaluation and hiring of new personnel.
  • Oversee training initiatives for team members.
  • Manage the performance of direct reports and oversee the performance of maintenance staff.

Communication:

  • Set clear performance expectations for maintenance staff.
  • Maintain regular communication with plant personnel.
  • Ensure effective coordination between maintenance and other departments regarding safety, quality, and production issues.
  • Encourage collaboration among production, engineering, and maintenance teams.

Production Support:

  • Provide troubleshooting support for process equipment and controls.
  • Identify and analyze root causes of equipment failures.
  • Establish and monitor maintenance performance metrics.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering to enhance process reliability and equipment performance.
  • Maintain a robust predictive and preventative maintenance program.

Financial Management:

  • Develop and manage the annual maintenance budget.
  • Monitor and manage maintenance overtime costs.
  • Oversee contractor expenditures.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for cost savings.
  • Review monthly financial reports to identify improvement areas.
  • Evaluate and approve purchase requests as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Completion of a 2-year Technical Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Technology with at least 5 years of experience in maintenance management, or a B.S. degree in mechanical, chemical, or a related engineering field with a minimum of 3 years in a similar role.
  • Preferred: Five years of direct supervisory experience in maintenance.
  • Experience in the maintenance field is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems is required.
  • SAP experience is a plus.
  • Experience in budgeting and cost forecasting is essential.

Compensation: Compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. A comprehensive benefits package is also available.

Salary Range: $95,000 - $130,000
