Position Overview

Howmet Aerospace is seeking a Technical Operations Supervisor to oversee our manufacturing processes within the Howmet Wheel Systems (HWS) division.

Howmet Wheel Systems has a storied history, having pioneered the forged wheel in 1948. Today, we continue to set the standard for safe, robust, and lightweight aluminum transportation products. With a workforce of 1,700 across 14 global locations, we produce over 4 million aluminum wheels annually, generating sales exceeding $800 million.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise a team of employees to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all Environmental & Safety regulations.
  • Monitor team performance and implement corrective measures as necessary.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and execute plans effectively.
  • Address problems at their source to prevent recurrence.
  • Facilitate effective communication within and outside the team.
  • Maintain accurate production and quality assurance documentation.
  • Provide motivation and direction to team members in the assigned area.
  • Manage employee relations, including contract administration and grievance resolution.
  • Achieve or surpass production targets related to output, safety, and delivery.
  • Implement Howmet Aerospace Business System initiatives, focusing on lean manufacturing principles.
  • Drive cost-saving initiatives and monitor their implementation.

Environmental, Health & Safety Commitment:

  • Collaborate with other Technical Supervisors, Engineering, Maintenance Planning, and various Production departments.
  • Prioritize accident prevention alongside production, quality, and cost control, fostering a culture of safety awareness among employees.

Qualifications:

Basic Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • At least one year of management, supervisory, or team lead experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or Business from an accredited institution.
  • Experience with Oracle software.
  • Familiarity with union environments.
  • Background in works engineering.
