Quality Assurance Director

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Director of Quality Assurance, your primary role will be to ensure that all products align with customer expectations, company standards, and relevant regulatory requirements. Your responsibilities will encompass:

  1. Collaborating with the Director of Quality Assurance to develop, implement, and uphold internal product testing protocols, including manuals and procedures, while managing product testing for internal, licensor, and customer specifications.
  2. Overseeing Certificates of Compliance for children's products in line with CPSIA regulations and managing documentation requests from regulatory bodies and licensors.
  3. Coordinating the issuance and upkeep of all retailer and licensor Letters of Guarantee to meet retailer, licensor, and governmental obligations.
  4. Partnering with the Director of Quality Assurance to establish and maintain product quality standards, directing quality personnel to ensure compliance with these standards.
  5. Building and nurturing effective relationships with quality teams and testing laboratories associated with major retailers and licensors.
  6. Traveling to international vendor facilities to foster collaborative partnerships, reinforce quality expectations, and oversee production processes.
  7. Visiting domestic distribution centers to train and supervise quality control staff, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of quality standards and assisting in recruitment efforts.
  8. Participating in product evaluations for safety and liability assessments, recommending necessary modifications.
  9. Staying informed about updates related to product safety compliance and federal/state regulations, maintaining appropriate documentation.
  10. Monitoring changes in packaging and labeling requirements for target markets, disseminating relevant information and adjusting internal protocols as needed.
  11. Ensuring timely and accurate quarterly reporting, evaluating outcomes, and implementing necessary actions.

Qualifications:

  • Over 10 years of experience in a Quality Assurance role within the textile industry.
  • A minimum of 5 years in a managerial capacity.
  • Experience working with and visiting manufacturing facilities in Asia.
  • Proficiency in developing statistical quality control methodologies.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
