The Vice President of Strategic Partnerships will enhance and broaden the company's business development efforts by leading a team focused on cultivating relationships with key decision-makers in biotechnology and pharmaceutical firms within a designated region. This role involves engaging with C-level executives to ensure the company maintains complementary development pipelines, fostering long-term and impactful partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
1. Direct and oversee the activities of the business development team, alongside managing personal accounts. Responsibilities include the professional growth and performance evaluation of team members.
2. Collaborate with Business Development leadership to set objectives for the development and advancement of team members.
3. Formulate annual and long-term business strategies for assigned accounts and personal accounts, determining the approach for developing business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
4. Conduct market analysis and develop an annual business strategy for specific segments and assigned accounts, participating in the creation and execution of the sales plan, including sales forecasting.
5. Organize, implement, and assess monthly objectives of the sales action plan, managing time and resources effectively while motivating the team regarding sales goals.
6. Develop account strategies for all relevant clients, anticipating and addressing client challenges in collaboration with the appropriate operations team leader.
7. Ensure that the business development team maintains accurate and current records within the database for both active and targeted accounts.
8. Maintain up-to-date knowledge in designated therapeutic areas and the company's service capabilities to provide value-added services to clients.
9. Facilitate updates with the business development team regarding new activities in their region and the clinical research industry.
10. Participate in professional meetings and conventions as appropriate.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred.
2. A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in the healthcare sector in sales, marketing, commercial operations, or business development roles.
3. Proven ability to manage multiple sales strategies and approaches to market.
4. Results-oriented with experience in a B2B consultative sales environment.
5. Strong work ethic, integrity, and proactive leadership skills.
6. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
7. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with strong presentation capabilities.
8. Willingness to travel extensively (over 50%).
