Job Overview

The ideal candidate will engage in the operations of dry etch diffusion furnaces, collaborating closely with a skilled team of Technicians and Engineers. Key responsibilities encompass, but are not limited to:

  • Cleaning and processing components of dry etch tools, including stainless steel, quartz, and ceramic parts.
  • Utilizing various solvents and cleaning agents to maintain semiconductor tools and production equipment.
  • Employing automated parts washers for the removal of ferric etch materials from specific components.
  • Operating stationary cleaning equipment while documenting processes and managing inventory.
  • Organizing parts into clean and dirty categories using carts.
  • Loading and unloading baskets in ovens.
  • Recording pertinent information in BPOs or Run Cards.
  • Conducting visual inspections to ensure proper core removal.
  • Monitoring and operating ovens.
  • Responding to alarm conditions in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Documenting all tasks performed in computer systems.
  • Maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Verifying parts against accompanying paperwork.
  • Adhering to all relevant Standard Operating Procedures.

Core Responsibilities

Essential activities include:

  • Executing basic cleaning, packing, and maintenance tasks.
  • Performing thorough inspections of completed work products.
  • Accurately summarizing and communicating findings to the engineering team and management as necessary.
  • Maintaining compliance with industry and company quality and safety standards.
  • Supporting customer initiatives aimed at continuous improvement.
  • Proactively addressing customer issues and collaborating with stakeholders, assisting fellow technicians in equipment handling and loading.
  • Inspecting parts post-production and packaging, managing recipe information, and overseeing inventory for parts requiring transfer to other areas.

Specialized tasks may involve the chemical cleaning of components using acidic and basic solutions, along with various inspection activities to guarantee the effectiveness of cleaning processes.

  • Safe handling and disposal of hazardous cleaning chemicals.
  • Providing general assistance to Technicians during equipment installations.
  • Setting up and staging equipment and parts for installation tasks.
  • Assisting in the movement of general equipment and cleaning up post-installation.
  • Researching parts history and identifying necessary production recipes.
  • This role may entail initial cleaning of parts with various solvents (such as IPA), preparing sample kits, basic machine operation, scrubbing and detailing parts with abrasive pads, cleanroom packaging, boxing items for shipment, and general maintenance of the work area.

Qualifications

Due to the dynamic nature of job priorities, the Parts Cleaning Operator must effectively respond to the needs of Engineers and Managers within the department.

Essential Skills:

  • A High School Diploma is required, with the ability to read and comprehend all operational documents.
  • Capability to follow detailed steps and procedures as outlined in Specifications, Manuals, Visual Aids, or Instructions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for document revision and occasional creation.
  • Flexibility and the ability to manage multiple tasks with a keen attention to detail are essential.
  • A strong commitment to safety practices is mandatory.
  • Ability to work with small quantities of chemicals is required.
  • Quick learning aptitude is essential.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Previous experience in a fabrication environment is preferred but not required.
  • Mechanical aptitude and a solid understanding of cleanroom packing processes are necessary.
  • Strong communication skills are required.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Job responsibilities will be conducted within a cleanroom environment. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds are required. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety shoes (composite toe protection is mandatory) and adherence to industry safety protocols are essential.
  • This position involves handling parts of various sizes, ranging from 5 lbs to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to remain on feet throughout the workday, with the ability to walk long distances and stand for extended periods.
  • Willingness to wear a cleanroom 'bunny' suit daily is required.
  • Occasional use of acid-resistant gear, including gloves, aprons, face shields, and goggles, is necessary.
  • Good hand-eye coordination is essential.
