About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Capital Project Manager III to join our Solid Waste Division Project Management Office (PMO). As a key member of our team, you will lead complex capital projects from charter to construction and closeout, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery. Your expertise in project management, construction management, and environmental leadership will drive project goals and objectives, managing resources, prioritizing county equity and social justice, and presenting project status to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prioritize, organize, and manage project work and resources
  • Contract with and manage consultants and other professionals by monitoring performance and ensuring accountability
  • Develop, manage, and participate in project teams
  • Identify, manage, and respond to project risks
  • Manage the design, construction management, and construction contracts
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in project management, construction management, engineering, business administration, or a closely related field
  • A minimum of five (5) years of design and construction project management work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple complex projects simultaneously and produce high-quality deliverables in a timely manner
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of professional disciplines and individuals with diverse backgrounds in dynamic team settings and utilize strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizing, planning, and process management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem and conflict resolution skills

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Project manager experience with public works projects

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position working a 40-hour work week. The position is exempt from the overtime provision of the Fair Labor Standard Act (FLSA) and is not overtime eligible. The employee will work remotely from a home location, with onsite reporting requirements typically 1-2 days a month. The frequency of onsite work is determined by business needs and may be adjusted accordingly.
