Avionics Hardware Project Engineer III

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As a Project Engineer III for Avionics Hardware, you'll play a critical role in designing and testing real-time embedded electro-mechanical systems for our spacecraft.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and manage project scope, assumptions, and constraints
  • Manage project budgets and schedules
  • Collaborate with programmatic and technical stakeholders to define project scope and develop comprehensive program planning artifacts
  • Lead hardware and systems scrum meetings and track/report performance to plan
  • Identify and resolve or escalate blockers to team performance
  • Generate metrics, presentations, and other artifacts to provide status and planning data to stakeholders
  • Clearly and concisely present information on current and upcoming projects to senior leaders
  • Perform risk identification and management
  • Lead the baseline change process
Qualifications:
  • B.S. degree or higher in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, aerospace, or related field
  • 5+ years experience as either a technical contributor or project engineer/technical project manager developing and testing real-time embedded systems for safety-critical applications
  • Experience with avionics development standards such as ARP4754A, DO-254, DO-160 or similar
  • Possess high attention to detail and strong organizational/coordination skills
  • Extensive experience using Jama on an Agile development team
  • Extensive experience using scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project
  • Ability to learn fast, multitask, and drive tasks to completion
  • Ability to present programmatic and technical concepts to peers and leadership
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and strengthen our culture of inclusion
