Position Summary:

The Shop Foreman plays a crucial role in maintaining and servicing company assets, including equipment and vehicles, while ensuring we have the necessary inventory to meet customer demands. This position is also responsible for providing exceptional customer service to clients picking up or dropping off equipment. The Shop Foreman ensures that all equipment is serviced according to manufacturer specifications, maintaining the highest standards of quality before it leaves the facility. This role oversees the daily operations of the shop and yard, and may assist with deliveries and pickups as needed.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements in both the shop and yard.
  • Maintain all equipment according to manufacturer guidelines.
  • Verify that all decals and warning labels on equipment are clearly visible.
  • Conduct daily inventory checks to ensure adequate rental equipment availability, including sandbags, barricades, vertical panels, and more.
  • Oversee the servicing of equipment upon return, documenting maintenance activities accurately.
  • Ensure daily maintenance and organization of equipment, including washing and repairs.
  • Maintain an orderly yard and shop environment.
  • Communicate inventory needs to the Manager for timely ordering.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for customer equipment transactions.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports and documentation.
  • Collaborate with the Manager each morning to prioritize projects.
  • Delegate tasks effectively to shop personnel to ensure productivity.
  • Uphold cleanliness and organization standards in the shop and yard.
  • Assist drivers with loading and unloading as required.
  • Utilize the forklift solely for loading and unloading, completing a service report daily.
  • Provide prompt and courteous service to all customers.
  • Support various departments as needed.
  • Submit all paperwork to the Dispatcher at the end of each day.
  • Keep the branch radio operational in the yard for communication with dispatch.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- A minimum of two years of relevant experience or training, or a combination of education and experience

Certifications:
  • Valid state driver's license required
  • DOT Medical Card
