Incentive Structure:

Position Overview:

The Laboratory Support Specialist will play a crucial role in facilitating laboratory operations by ensuring the availability of sterile glassware, water, and essential supplies. This position also involves managing biohazard waste through autoclaving and adhering to established safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver clean, sterile glassware and necessary supplies to laboratories, ensuring all designated materials are available.
  • Coordinate maintenance services for laboratory equipment and communicate necessary repairs to the team.
  • Maintain accurate lab documentation, ensuring proper labeling of glassware and recording of services rendered.
  • Promote a safe working environment by decontaminating biohazard waste and adhering to safety regulations.
  • Provide support to colleagues as needed and contribute to fostering a collaborative team atmosphere.
  • Assess daily workload to ensure timely delivery of glassware, supplies, and water within a 24-hour timeframe.
  • Travel between locations as required during working hours, using personal transportation to address internal customer needs and feedback.
  • Independently resolve issues that may arise within the team or with external partners.
  • Prioritize customer requests to ensure that other responsibilities are effectively managed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Technical Associate's degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Ability to interpret instructions and execute tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Physical capability to lift and move up to 50 lbs, with repetitive use of hands and arms, and the ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong vision abilities including close and distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a diverse team environment.
  • Familiarity with laboratory practices and sterile techniques, with a commitment to safety regulations.
