Job Summary

The BSA Specialist II (OFAC) plays a critical role in ensuring the enterprise-wide investigation and approval of second and third level OFAC and other list screening suspect matches. This position interacts with senior management and business leaders from across Wintrust Banks and affiliates, particularly the Wire Room, along with the U.S. Department of Treasury's OFAC Unit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and analyze suspect matches from OFAC and other list screening using a variety of databases and research tools.
  • Interpret research data to make a determination and response for OFAC suspect matches, rejecting or blocking funds and filing necessary OFAC reports.
  • Manage various OFAC related reports to ensure compliance with Bank's OFAC Policies and Procedures.
  • Contribute to department's assignments and special projects, collaborating with business lines and leaders for strictly adhering to OFAC sanctions programs and internal escalation policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to business lines, corporate units, and compliance officers, as well as other assistance as requested to the BSA/AML Officers in the daily responsibilities of managing the Bank's BSA/AML and OFAC Compliance Program.
Requirements
  • 7 years of banking or relevant experience.
  • 1-3 years of BSA experience, particularly in OFAC alert clearance.
  • Working knowledge of various laws, regulations, and guidance as it relates to BSA, AML, and OFAC.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • CAMS certification or other BSA/OFAC related certification preferred.
