Position Overview
The role of a Mental Health Technician involves providing essential support to the clinical team in delivering Psychiatric Rehabilitative services to individuals within the Psychiatric Inpatient Unit. This position is crucial in assisting with structured therapeutic activities, addressing personal care requirements, and facilitating discharge planning.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist unit staff in the implementation of care plans for patients.
- Engage patients in structured activities to promote mental wellness.
- Support personal care needs to ensure comfort and dignity.
- Utilize crisis intervention techniques to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment.
Qualifications
- A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Prior experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in psychiatric care, is preferred.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English clearly.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory at the time of hire or within six months.
- Phlebotomy training is required at the time of hire or within six months.
