Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team at King County Correctional Facility. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric care to individuals in a correctional setting.
Responsibilities:- Perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, including patient history, mental status exams, and diagnosis.
- Prescribe and manage medications, as well as provide other treatments and referrals as needed.
- Develop and implement individualized mental health treatment plans, ensuring coordination of services and oversight of referrals.
- Communicate effectively with clients, healthcare teams, and other stakeholders through electronic charting and verbal interactions.
- Act as a consultant to healthcare teams, other staff, and the community, providing leadership and direction as needed.
- Ensure quality of professional practice by practicing within professional, legal, and ethical standards.
- Washington State license as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (in good standing) with prescriptive authority.
- Completion of advanced practitioner training and board certification as a nurse practitioner within the specialty practice.
- National Provider Identification (NPI) number required prior to credentialing.
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration required prior to credentialing.
- Documentation of current BLS CPR certification with AED training required prior to credentialing.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a care team and with a diverse and multi-cultural patient panel.
- Valid Washington State driver's license or have the ability to travel throughout King County in a timely manner.
- Minimum of 2 years prescribing experience.
