The Customer Service Associate I is integral in assisting consumers and credit card clients by managing account maintenance and overseeing credit card receivables. This position may also involve providing additional support for credit collections during busy periods.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently and accurately handle incoming customer calls, adhering to company standards.
  • Acquire a solid understanding of the computer and telephone systems utilized.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of credit card customer accounts through routine maintenance and initial notifications of significant events.
  • Effectively learn and utilize proprietary software applications.
  • Consistently demonstrate Valero's core values.
  • Assist in managing credit card receivables and make informed credit decisions based on established guidelines.
  • Comply with scheduling requirements and quality benchmarks.
  • Complete assigned responsibilities, including tasks related to the Mail Team function.

This position is hourly nonexempt, qualifying you for overtime compensation.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Some college education is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a call center environment is advantageous.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is beneficial.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in an on-site setting.

Compensation and position level will be determined based on qualifications and experience.

Applicants meeting the minimum criteria will be required to complete a 50-minute computer-based assessment as part of the application process.

Note: The pre-employment process includes a background check and drug screening.
