**About the Opportunity**

We are seeking a Medical Screener Specialist to join our team at our plasma collection center in your location. This is a part-time position with a competitive salary range of $40,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience.

**Job Summary**

The Medical Screener Specialist will be responsible for greeting donors, conducting registration procedures, and performing health screening tests to verify donor suitability for the plasma pheresis process. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills to ensure a positive experience for donors.

**Key Responsibilities**

1. Assist qualified donors in completing the screening process, including assessing self-administered health history and performing health screening procedures such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and temperature.

2. Educate new donors on the use of therapeutic products made from donated plasma, including explaining the screening process and health screening tests performed.

3. Register applicants and transfer donors based on completion of appropriate training and operational needs of the center.

4. Answer telephone calls and respond to donor inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

5. Maintain alertness and awareness to any reaction by a donor during or after the pheresis process and notify appropriate staff.

6. Ensure accurate recording of donor data in the electronic donor information management system.

7. Understand and follow policies and procedures associated with hyper immune programs at the center, if applicable.

8. Maintain a clean and efficient work environment and ensure sufficient operating supplies and forms are available as needed.

9. Promote safety in all actions and maintain confidentiality of all personnel, donor, and center information.

**Requirements**

High school diploma or equivalent required; minimum of three (3) months experience in a clerical or customer service related position, preferably in a medical or health provider environment.

Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, as well as perform basic math calculations.

**Working Conditions**

Fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions; occasionally perform tasks while standing and walking up to 100% of the time.Exposed to hazardous chemicals, extreme temperatures, and to blood-borne pathogens.
