Job Description

Job Summary:

The General Manager - Restaurant Operations will be responsible for the overall success of the restaurant, including managing staff, controllable profit plan achievement, guest count growth, and sales building activities. This role requires a strong commitment to hospitality and guest satisfaction, as well as a focus on employee selection, retention, and continuous operational improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Experience: Ensure that all restaurant staff prioritize guest satisfaction and create a respectful and enjoyable environment for guests.
  • Customer Service: Focus on delivering exceptional customer service during peak business periods.
  • People Management: Attract, hire, develop, coach, and retain restaurant staff to ensure an engaged and high-performing team.
  • Restaurant Operations: Direct restaurant operations to ensure that brand standards for food and facilities are consistently achieved.
  • Growth and Sales: Drive sales, guest count, and profit for the restaurant by developing and executing a local store marketing plan.
  • Financial Management: Interpret financial and operational reports, analyze data, and identify gaps in operating performance to develop solutions and ensure operating goals are achieved.

Essential Functions:

  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift a tray weighing up to 25 lbs, lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs, and perform other physical demands of the job.
  • Communication: Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, including guests, staff, and management.
  • Problem Solving: Must be able to problem solve and handle high-stress situations.
  • Leadership: Must be able to lead by example, make timely and informed decisions, and own outcomes for those decisions.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience in restaurant, hospitality, or retail management; additional operations and/or leadership experience strongly preferred.
  • Certifications: Food Safety Manager certification required.
  • Skills: Strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
