This critical role plays a vital part in assisting individuals and communities during and after disasters. Respond to customer inquiries and provide information about services and disaster assistance programs.
Support Applicants:
- Assist disaster survivors with the application process for federal assistance, ensuring they understand the requirements and documentation needed.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to applications, eligibility, and benefits.
- Accurately document interactions and maintain detailed records of customer interactions and transactions.
- Keep applicants informed about the status of their applications and any additional steps they need to take.
Coordinate with Teams:
Work closely with other departments and external agencies to provide comprehensive support to disaster survivors.
Empathy and Patience:
Ability to empathize with individuals in distress and provide patient, compassionate support.
Attention to Detail:
High level of accuracy in documenting and processing information.
Technical Proficiency:
Familiarity with computer systems and software used for data entry and communication.
Experience:
Previous experience in customer service or a related field is often preferred.
