Essential Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of Azure data protection strategies and encryption techniques.
  • Familiarity with security frameworks and standards, including NIST, ISO, and CIS.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in cloud security, particularly within Microsoft Azure.
  • A degree in computer science, information security, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity Architects and teams to develop and enforce cloud data security policies and procedures for Microsoft Azure.
  • Conduct security evaluations and audits, addressing any identified vulnerabilities.
  • Work alongside cloud platform teams (Azure, AWS, OCI, GCP) to implement robust security controls.
  • Monitor and respond to data security incidents, performing root cause analysis and remediation.
  • Establish documented processes for the effective use of encryption, key management, data masking, and labeling technologies in the cloud.
  • Create and maintain security documentation, including risk assessments and incident reports.
  • Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and standards.
  • Research and assess new cloud data security technologies, providing recommendations for enhancements.
  • Engage with stakeholders to implement and optimize cloud data security monitoring tools.
  • Collaborate with engineers and developers to integrate data security within the cloud development lifecycle.
  • Design and enforce policies regarding data access, retention, and deletion.
  • Provide training and guidance on data protection to cloud users and stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
  • A degree in computer science, information security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience in cloud security, with a focus on Microsoft Azure.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Azure data protection mechanisms and encryption methods.
  • Strong grasp of cloud security principles, including identity and access management, encryption, and network security.
  • Proficiency in data protection strategies for cloud storage and applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure security tools, such as Azure Security Center and Azure Sentinel.
  • Familiarity with Azure data privacy controls.
  • Ability to conduct risk assessments and data protection audits.
  • Knowledge of Azure-specific data protection tools and services.
  • Experience with security testing methodologies and tools.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages, such as PowerShell or Python.
  • Understanding of infrastructure as code and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Preferred certifications in cloud security, such as Azure Security Engineer Associate.
