Job Title: Lead Financial Engineer

Fannie Mae is seeking a highly skilled Lead Financial Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our credit risk management team, you will be responsible for analyzing and monitoring credit risk on our $500 billion multifamily securitization book of business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute proprietary in-house forecasting and pricing models using Java, Python, and R.
  • Analyze loan level results provided by off-the-shelf forecasting applications, such as Excel Pivot Tables, R, and Python.
  • Understand and assess upstream input data, including multifamily loan data flows, transformations, and how changes to the upstream data drive changes in credit forecasts.
  • Quantitatively analyze multifamily loan terms, products, and securitizations through forecasts of NOI, Cap Rates, Interest Rates, and Property Prices.
  • Implement code changes to modify and/or extend in-house models, or to develop new models from scratch.
  • Understand multifamily loan securitizations and model their cash flows in Python and R. Perform discounted cash flow (NPV) analysis on forecasted loan structure cashflows.
  • Communicate complex financial results to management through presentations and memos.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience in financial modeling, data analysis, or a related field.
  • Master's degree in Financial Engineering, Quantitative Analytics, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, and R.
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, Tableau, and Power BI.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
