Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Coding Manager to oversee the daily operations and strategic objectives of our Coding Team. This role is essential in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of coding processes for our diverse clientele. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, attention to detail, and a commitment to enhancing workflow and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily activities of the Coding Team to guarantee effective coding across all healthcare entities.
- Recruit, train, and lead a team of 5-8 coding professionals, both remote and in-office.
- Provide management with insights on coding performance, areas for improvement, and the status of process enhancement initiatives.
- Foster a collaborative work environment within the Coding Team.
- Evaluate the Coding Team's effectiveness and analyze coding challenges to improve claim submissions.
- Contribute to the creation and upkeep of training materials and procedural documentation.
- Assist in integrating AI solutions to enhance operational efficiency and minimize errors.
- Track and communicate key performance indicators with management and operational teams.
- Design and implement quality assurance measures for all coding activities.
- Address escalated coding concerns by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure adherence to all HIPAA regulations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of this role.
- An associate degree is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred, along with relevant work experience.
- Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) is essential.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in medical coding and billing is required.
- Demonstrated leadership and management capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and coding software.
- Thorough understanding of coding regulations and guidelines.
