Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Inpatient Coder to join our team at Management Business Solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing, abstracting, and assigning accepted medical codes for inpatient diagnoses, procedures, and services. This role requires strong analytical and data mining skills, as well as excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes accurately and productively for inpatient cases
Group codes and completed product into payment groups
Participate in DRG Reconciliation with Clinical Documentation Specialists
Query providers for clarification and specificity
Analyze information for optimal reimbursement
Ensure compliance with coding, billing, and data collection regulations

Requirements:

High School diploma or GED
Successful completion of the UNC HCS IP Coder Proficiency Test
AHIMA or AAPC certification and credential
Four years of experience in hospital inpatient coding
Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding and analytical skills
