POSITION OVERVIEW

As a vital part of our retail operations, our associates play a crucial role in delivering outstanding service to our customers. From maintaining product availability on the sales floor to crafting engaging visual displays, addressing customer inquiries, and ensuring a smooth checkout process, our team members contribute to creating unforgettable shopping experiences while supporting the mission of Columbia Sportswear Company.

In the role of Retail Associate, you will act as a brand representative, ensuring that customers receive exceptional service through positive interactions. Your natural problem-solving skills and sales expertise will be essential in answering customer questions and providing insightful product recommendations, all while embodying the values of Columbia Sportswear Company to enhance teamwork and customer service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Deliver outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries related to product features, benefits, and availability; engage with customers to assess their needs and preferences (e.g., demonstrate products, suggest suitable options, etc.).
  • Uphold store standards for visual merchandising, cleanliness, and safety; retrieve merchandise from various locations as needed.
  • Accurately and efficiently handle all cash register transactions (e.g., sales, returns, exchanges, and loyalty program enrollments).
  • Support store profitability by managing the receipt, handling, replenishment, and processing of incoming and outgoing product flow.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • No specific educational requirements (High School Diploma or GED preferred).
  • Up to 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Proficient in operating a Point of Sale (POS) system and other in-store technology.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Engage in a dynamic work environment that requires frequent movement and may involve physical tasks (e.g., lifting items weighing up to 40 lbs.); may involve exposure to dust and noise.
  • Occasionally requires the ability to work in a stationary position.
  • Strong communication skills are essential.
  • Availability to work a flexible retail schedule, which may vary seasonally and in response to business trends.
