Key Responsibilities- Meat Cutting and Preparation: Perform all aspects of meat cutting, including achieving margin and high productivity, and preparing specialty merchandise and cuts.
- Meat and Seafood Expertise: Demonstrate extensive knowledge of meat and seafood cuts, product claims, cooking techniques, and product origins sold within the local market.
- Team Leadership: Serve as a mentor and meat/seafood cutting expert to the entire team, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality products and exceptional customer service.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, addressing customer needs in a timely and effective manner, and modeling suggestive selling techniques.
- Inventory Management: Assist with merchandise purchasing, breaking merchandise, and preparing specialty merchandise.
- Store Operations: Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, and ensure compliance with established procedures, including Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
- Communication: Deliver information in a clear and respectful manner to fellow team members, customers, and vendors.
- Experience: 18+ months retail experience.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds, stand/walk 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday, and work in a wet and cold environment.
- Skills: Excellent cutting skills, strong organizational skills, ability to delegate work, and strong communication skills.
Whole Foods Market offers a competitive hourly rate of $36.08, commensurate with experience, and a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan benefits, and paid time off.
