Meat Department Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Department Coordinator to join our team at Puget Consumers Co-op. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the meat department, ensuring exceptional customer service, and driving sales growth.
Key Responsibilities- Manage meat department operations, including scheduling, gross profit, productivity, budgeting, inventory, and reporting.
- Provide leadership and guidance to meat department staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to deliver excellent customer service.
- Oversee meat processing and merchandising, ensuring high-quality products are presented in an attractive and appealing manner.
- Train and evaluate meat department staff, providing coaching and mentoring to help them grow and develop in their roles.
- Responsible for holding staff accountable for meeting performance standards and expectations.
- Order meat products and supplies, ensuring timely delivery and minimizing waste.
- Protect the health and safety of all department members, ensuring department sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards are met.
- Proven ability to provide excellent, professional customer service.
- Journey level meat cutter experience, with extensive knowledge of retail meat operations, including product knowledge, ordering, processing, merchandising, and sanitation.
- Knowledge of accounting, budgeting, and inventorying procedures, with the ability to apply this knowledge to meet set standards of performance.
- Demonstrated organizational and planning skills, with a creative and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving and change.
- Excellent leadership, teambuilding, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to coach and hold staff accountable.
- Computer knowledge and skills, including Microsoft Office products and file management.
- Ability to meet physical demands of the position, including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion, and lifting up to 40 LBS.
