Position Overview: Reporting to the VP of Finance, the Accounting Manager will be instrumental in managing the financial operations of the organization.

This role involves collaboration with various team members across the organization, as well as external consultants and vendors, to ensure the accuracy of our financial reporting.

The Accounting Manager will oversee daily accounting functions and provide essential information to facilitate the monthly closing process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations by reviewing existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence, filing financial reports, and managing tax compliance.
  • Coordinate with external auditors during their review processes.

Cash Management:

  • Monitor bank accounts using an online Treasury Management system and oversee multiple credit card accounts.
  • Manage the company's Line of Credit activities.
  • Maintain weekly cash flow reporting.
  • Process intercompany cash transfers and reconcile bank statements.

Accounts Receivable:

  • Supervise the Accounting Associate responsible for Billing and Accounts Receivable.
  • Assist in client cash collections and resolve any outstanding balances.

Accounts Payable:

  • Verify the accuracy of received invoices and approve payments within the financial system.
  • Process automated expense reports.
  • Manage vendor payments via ACH & EFT and review monthly statements.
  • Engage with vendors and internal staff to resolve invoice-related issues.

Payroll:

  • Collaborate with the Payroll Service Provider to execute bi-weekly payroll.
  • Maintain the commissions calculation schedule for approval by the CFO and CEO.
  • Reconcile and record payroll entries in the General Ledger.

Month-end Close:

  • Lead the month-end closing process and ensure the accuracy of the General Ledger.
  • Provide variance analysis and commentary.
  • Assist with posting Revenue and Expense Journal Entries and support forecasting and budgeting efforts.
  • Engage in ad hoc projects as assigned by the VP of Finance and CFO.

Qualifications:

  • 5-7 years of experience in finance or accounting, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks and other ERP systems.
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in verifying information accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
  • Demonstrated success in both team-oriented and self-directed settings.
