The Specialty Sales team is responsible for selling one of the respiratory portfolio cornerstones of growth now and in the future.
About the RoleThis role will provide you with the opportunity to lead key activities, career growth, and the ability to do impactful work. Responsibilities include:
- Providing scientific knowledge, business acumen, and customer engagement expertise to specialist customers in support of a GSK biologic product.
- Understanding the reimbursement/distribution landscape for specialist customers and identifying the appropriate resources to refer customers to for reimbursement and distribution choices, always working within GSK guidelines and values.
- Maintaining knowledge and data, which are constantly changing, with respect to severe asthma therapeutic expertise.
- Providing product educational programs/in-services to customers.
- Working within compliance guidelines and GSK values always.
- Developing strategies and tactics to generate sales.
- Developing and implementing strategies specific to each customer within an account (i.e., Allergists, Pulmonologists, nurses, PAs, business/office managers).
- Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with Marketing, Payer Relations Managers (Market Access), Medical (MSLs), and other functions within GSK.
- Effectively managing allocated resources (i.e., financial).
- Providing outstanding customer service by responding to our customers' requests, inquiries, and needs.
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:
- A Bachelor's degree.
- Ability to travel domestically as necessary, which in some territories may include overnight travel up to 30%.
- A valid driver's license.
- Must be able and willing to drive or operate a vehicle - driving is an essential function of this role.
- The selected candidate will be hired at the appropriate level based on experience:
- Specialty Account Specialist (grade 8): 7+ years of pharmaceutical sales/medical device sales experience.
- Senior Specialty Account Specialist (grade 7): 15+ years of pharmaceutical sales/medical device sales experience.
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
- Specialty Products that utilize the Buy & Bill or Specialty pharmacy modes of distribution.
- Expertise in working with Payer Reimbursement Managers.
- Biologic/Rare Disease/Respiratory Sales experience.
- Cross-functional matrix collaboration.
- Has demonstrated consistent performance over time.
