The Victorian Government's Department of Education is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated teacher to join our team at one of our secondary schools. As an Education Professional, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality education to students, fostering their academic growth, and contributing to the school's mission.
About the RoleThis exciting opportunity offers a chance to work with students aged 12-18, teaching wood technology as part of the curriculum. You will be responsible for developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, assessing student progress, and providing constructive feedback. Your expertise will also be invaluable in mentoring junior teachers and supporting the development of school policies and programs.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, deliver, and assess lessons in wood technology, incorporating a range of teaching strategies and materials.
- Develop and implement assessments to measure student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Mentor and coach junior teachers, providing guidance on pedagogical best practices and classroom management techniques.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and programs, aligned with the Victorian Curriculum and Departmental priorities.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A valid Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching wood technology or a related field, preferably at the secondary level.
- An understanding of the Victorian Curriculum and its application in a secondary setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, parents, and students.
