Job Description:


This exciting opportunity exists for a highly skilled and experienced Psychologist to join our team at the Department of Education. As a Psychologist, you will be responsible for providing expert consultation to schools, healthcare providers, and families on evidence-based best practices for student wellbeing.



About the Role:


This position offers a unique chance to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students, working collaboratively with educators, families, and community stakeholders to support student learning and wellbeing. You will contribute to the development of policies, procedures, and programs that foster resilience in children and young people, ensuring their educational needs are met.



Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide expert consultation to schools, healthcare providers, and families on evidence-based best practices for student wellbeing.
  • Develop and implement programs, procedures, and policies that promote student wellbeing, resilience, and academic achievement.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide holistic care and support to students, including emergency response and crisis management.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines related to student wellbeing.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with best practices and research in student wellbeing.


Requirements:


To be successful in this role, you will need:



  • A graduate or post-graduate degree in Psychology or equivalent.
  • Full registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioners Registration Agency (AHPRA).
  • A valid Working with Children Check and full Driver's License.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working in schools, healthcare settings, or other related environments is highly regarded.


Salary: $95,000 - $125,000 per annum, plus superannuation and annual leave loading.
